If there was ever anyone who was Jackson County through and through, it is definitely Zack Gilmore. Gilmore left Jackson County temporarily while obtaining his college degree but he returned as quickly as his legs would let him. Gilmore readily admits there is no place like home and Jackson County is home to him. The Jackson County Economic Development Council committee could have looked far and wide and not found a better fit for their director than Zack Gilmore. On February 12, Gilmore took over as Jackson County’s Economic Development Council Director.
Gilmore admits it’s been a whirlwind since he came on board with back-to-back out of town conferences but says of the experience, “It’s fantastic. We are learning so much and making great contacts.”
About what he envisions for the future of Jackson County, Gilmore has his eyes set on both things of all sizes, “I want to make sure all of our current businesses know that we are here to help them and that we are advocates for them as well as bringing in new businesses. We are open to any new businesses. We are not culling anything. I mean if they want to come here, we are going to look at them, no matter how big or how small.”
Zack brings a wealth of experience with him in various avenues. He is a graduate of Marianna High School, Chipola College and Florida State University. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in finance and real estate in 2015 with a minor in hospitality.
He was the E-Commerce director at Mike Schmitz Automotive Group in Dothan prior to returning to Marianna as the marketing and fiancé manager at Miller & Miller Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac. From Miller & Miller, he moved to Envision Credit Union as Branch Operations Supervisor.
Gilmore is married to Kinsey Gilmore and they reside in Marianna.
