Evie Amanda Taylor Granberry passed peacefully away on the evening of January 7th with some of her family by her side at Southeast Medical in Dothan, Alabama after a short illness.

Evie was born on November 3, 1952 to Sam and Bonnie Taylor. She was a graduate of Graceville High School in the Class of 1970 and also attended Chipola College. Other than a short time in Virginia and Maryland, she was a lifelong resident of Graceville, Florida where she retired from the Bank of Jackson County several years ago.

People often referred to Evie as the sweetest person they’d ever met and said often to know her was to love her. She lived her life in service to others always extending kindness and help when needed. Evie was unselfish in her love for her family and friends as she constantly supported them through her presence, service, and prayers.

She enjoyed working in her flowers and being outside. Evie marveled in nature and greatly respected God’s creations. Her hobbies included feeding and watching hummingbirds and the wildlife she attracted in her yard. Evie was a lover of music and appreciated a variety of styles. She was an avid reader and a talented artist. Evie appreciated and enjoyed her life here on earth.

Evie is survived by her son, Billy (Thomalita) Granberry; grandchildren, Austin (Mara), and Brennon Granberry and great grandson, Kolt Granberry. To each of them she was proudly known as MeMe. She is also survived by her sister, Judy (Harold) Taylor; nephews Trey and Samuel (Amber) Taylor, and Tim (Nicki) McGinnis, and niece Julie Franklin Pfluke; great nephews Jess, Cameron, and Bryson Taylor and great nieces Avery Taylor Bodie, Leighton Taylor, Amber and Autumn McGinnis. She is also survived by her Aunt Lottie Early, Uncle David Taylor and many cousins who she truly loved. She leaves behind an abundance of treasured lifelong friends.

Evie is predeceased by her parents, Sam and Bonnie Taylor, brothers, Jack Franklin, Joe McGinnis and Danny Taylor, as well as her nephews John Franklin and Jed Taylor.

Due to present concerns with ongoing sicknesses, a private family service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday with a memorial visitation beginning at 10:00 A. M.

Evie’s interment will be by cremation and a return of her ashes to the earth. James and Lipford Funeral Home will be directing arrangements.
