Ms. Mavis McLean, of Marianna, Florida transitioned from life temporal
to life eternal on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at home surrounded by her loving
family and friends, in Greenwood, Florida.
She was an educator at Marianna High School, where she was loved by
her coworkers and students past and present.
Homegoing Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday, April 27,
2024, at 11:00 AM from the sanctuary of the Second West Baptist
Association Church located at 4110 Herring Avenue in Marianna, Florida
32448 where the Rev. Dwight Cockerham Sr., is the moderator and. with
the Reverend Henry Forward, officiating. Vann Funeral Home is in charge
of the arrangements.
Interment will be in the Buckhorn Baptist Church Cemetery located at 4691
Hwy 162 in Marianna, Florida.
Ms. McLean will lie in repose at the church from 10:00 AM until time for the
service.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024, from 6:00 PM to
8:00 PM at Vann Funeral Home.
She leaves to cherish a lifetime of fond, yet precious memories, a
loving and devoted family:
Two Sisters: June Cash of Washington, D.C and Francina and husband
Mikel Hollaway of Sarasota, Florida
One Brother: Benjamin Ellis Jr. of Phoenix, Arizona
Five cousins she was reared with as siblings: Charles and wife Lula
Vann of Marianna, Florida; Ann and husband Emmett Long of Greenwood,
Florida; Thelma Lambert of Panama City, Florida; Grover Vann Jr. of
Greenwood, Florida and Harry and wife Mamie Vann of Greenwood,
Florida and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, other relatives, coworkers
and many dear friends.
