Taylor Lee Thomas Potter, age 27 of Sneads, Florida passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 26, 2021. He was born on February 22, 1994, in Marianna, Florida and spent the majority of his life in Jackson County with the exception of a few years spent living in Pennsylvania. Taylor cherished the outdoors and spent a lot of time hunting, fishing, working on his trucks and camping out on the sandbar at the river or at the lake. He loved his family dearly and spending time with them; he especially loved making beef jerky with his brothers and sisters. Taylor was a gifted landscape design artist and certified welder; he created many beautiful works inspired by his love of the great outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Thomas V. Jakubowski; paternal grandparents, Buddy and Erma Hogeland; paternal great grandparents, Pauline Glisson and Chester Williams; step-grandfather, James Griffin.
Taylor is survived by his mother, Nancy Rutter and her husband Bill of Pennsylvania; his father Tony Potter of Sneads, Florida; one precious son and the apple of his eye, Kacen Gabriel Potter; his girlfriend, Bree Ritter; two sisters; Jessica Price (Curtis) and Morgan Rutter; two brothers, Jamie Potter and Jacob Rutter; his step mother, Mary Potter; grandparents, Mandy Wtulich (Ed) and Kathy Jakubowski; three nieces, Makayla, Natalia and Lucrisha; two nephews, Lane and Anthony; numerous other extended family members in Florida and Pennsylvania as well as one very special and faithful canine companion, “Hooch”.
Funeral services for Taylor will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021, at 4:00 PM Central Time in the McAlpin Funeral Home chapel with Rev. LaVon Pettis officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
