Steve Edward Raines, age 57, of Marianna, FL, passed away on September 28, 2021, at home surrounded by his wife and daughters.
Steve was married to his wife, Dottie Raines, for 37 years. He was a wonderful daddy, granddaddy, and husband. The love he shared with his daughters, Kelly, Stephanie, and Ashley was fierce. Spending time with his grandbabies was his greatest joy.
He was a meat market manager for 35 years at various grocery stores, including the Piggly Wiggly in Graceville, FL. He loved the outdoors, and he loved fishing, especially tournament fishing with the local bass club and the American Bass Anglers. Deer hunting was also a great passion for him, both running dogs and still hunting.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Robert Eddie Raines, mother, Shirley Marie Raines, and brother, Robert Allan Raines.
He is survived by his wife, Dottie Raines; three daughters, Kelly Baker (Chris), Stephanie Basford, and Ashley Slesser (Brian); six grandchildren, Kara and Ethan Baker, Jackson and Emily Ann Basford, Bryce and Ella Slesser; brothers, Ronnie Raines (Theresa), Scott Raines (Trish); sister-in-law, Carolyn Raines; and great family friends, Jerry and Nancy Basford.
Funeral Services will be at Sneads Assembly of God Church with Reverend Juno Douglas officiating and James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. Interment will follow at Bright Prospect Cemetery. The family requests that CDC Recommendations of masks and social distancing be observed.
