Ruth Elaine Stevens Clemons, a loving and creative woman, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2023, in Chattahoochee, Florida. Born on October 30, 1928, in Waterloo, Iowa, Ruth was the daughter of the late Clarence Darwin Stevens and Erma Belle Searcy Stevens. She was predeceased by her sister, Louise Donlan.

Ruth is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Wayne L. Clemons, and their two children, Randy Roberts of New Jersey and Judy Milan of Jacksonville Beach, Florida. She was a proud grandmother to three grandchildren and a doting great-grandmother to two great-grandchildren.

Ruth earned an Associate of Arts degree and went on to become a Certified Public Accountant, working for multiple businesses throughout her career. She was an intelligent and hardworking woman who was dedicated to her profession.

In 1965, Ruth married Wayne, and together they raised their two children, instilling in them the values of love, creativity, and intelligence. Ruth was a pillar of strength for her family and was always there to offer support and guidance.

Ruth’s love for the arts was evident in her passion for painting and crafting. She was a talented artist, and some of her artwork is proudly displayed at the Gadsden Arts Center and Museum in Quincy, Florida. Ruth was an active member of the Chattahoochee Arts Club, where she enjoyed sharing her creative talents with fellow artists and the community.

In addition to her love for the arts, Ruth had a green thumb and took great pleasure in tending to her beautiful flower gardens. She enjoyed traveling in her younger years, exploring new places and creating lasting memories with her loved ones.

Ruth’s loving, creative, and intelligent spirit will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy will live on through her artwork, her love for her family, and the countless lives she touched throughout her 94 years.

As we remember Ruth Elaine Stevens Clemons, let us celebrate her life and the many ways she enriched the lives of those around her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the beauty of the flowers she so cherished and the love of the family she leaves behind.
