Rev. R. Jerry Robertson, Sr., age 79, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2024.
Jerry was born in Griffin, Georgia on February 23, 1945. His parents, Leo Golden Robertson and Mary Lillian Robertson, his wife, Martha Hall Robertson, daughter, Bridget Hickok; siblings, L.G. Robertson, Jr, Willis Robertson, Gilbert Robertson, Jean Nelson, Anna Lewis, Betty Brooks, Clarice Clark, Faye Josselson, Johnny Robertson, Katie Harris, Larry Robertson, Jane Gattis all preceded him in death. He received his Master’s Degree from The Baptist University of Florida, formerly Florida Baptist Theological College. Rev. Robertson formerly pastored Whigham Baptist Church, Whigham, Georgia, Friendship Baptist Church in Malone, Florida, Highland Baptist Church in Griffin, Georgia, Calvary Baptist Church in Moultrie, Georgia, Deep Creek Baptist Church in Wadesboro, North Carolina. He then returned to Whigham Baptist Church in Whigham, Georgia, which was the first church and last church he pastored before his final retirement.
Survivors include his children Richard Robertson (Cathy), Brandi Parker (Andy), Michael Robertson, 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; brother, Dave Robertson; sisters, Kay Maddox and Judy Griffin; many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service in the chapel. Reverend Ron Shiver will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family would like for you to make donations to the Gideon’s International, P.O. Box 842, Griffin, GA 30224 in memory of Rev. Robertson.
