On Sunday September 13, 2020, officers with Marianna PoliceDepartment responded to a residence located in the 4200 block of Woodberry Road for a welfare check on a possible victim of domestic violence whom had used a safe word asking for help. Upon officer’s arrival, they could hear a verbal argument ongoing inside the residence. Contact was attempted to be made with the occupants of the residence at that time De’Marius Leslie exited the home’s back door and ran from residence while officers were identifying themselves. Leslie ran a short distance and was taken into custody without incident. Leslie was found to have cocaine in his possession when he was apprehended. Leslie was arrested and charged with resisting without violence, possession of drugs, and possession of paraphernalia.
