On Monday, August 23rd,2021, Myra Louise Strickland, loving mother and proud grandmother was called home by the Lord.

Louise was born in 1932 in Graceville, Florida to A.B. Richter and Mae Belle Hughes Richter. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Gregory Drummond; brothers, Herman Richter; A.B. (Curtis) Richter, Jr.; Roscoe Richter and sister, Frances Starnes.

A longtime resident of Chattahoochee, she is fondly remembered as the proprietor of

The Town House Restaurant, formerly Galloway’s. After many years of service, she retired from Florida State Hospital.  In the early days at Cottondale High School, she was a championship basketball player. Later in life she enjoyed fishing, quilting, crafting, spending time with her grandchildren and family and reading her Bible.

She will be remembered by her children: Pamela Medley (Ralph) of Chattahoochee; Rebecca Drummond Lanier(Jimmy) of Marianna; Richard Drummond (Dr. Mark Smith & Dixie Belle) of Tampa; Lisa (Shelley) Strickland Byrom (Steve) of Grandbury, Texas; Sheila Strickland Pappajohn of Dallas, Texas and Joelee Strickland of Fort Worth, Texas; Grandchildren JT Medley (Andrea), Jodie Medley (Gabriel Neyra), Daniel Medley, Dylan Rudd (Jasper), Mazie Rudd; and great grandchildren Blue Devin Medley, Joe Medley, Deia Medley, Teague Neyra, Kai Neyra, Sage Neyra, Ralph Medley and Jaxon Rudd; a brother, Esco Richter (Patricia) of Apopka and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

We ask that you join us in celebrating her life by passing on her legacy of love through acts of kindness to those in need.

A graveside service will be held in Mount Pleasant Cemetery on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 10:00 AM Eastern Time with Rev. Robert Johns officiating and McAlpin Funeral Home directing.
