Lucretia Ward Farris, 69 of Graceville, entered her Heavenly home on Tuesday, February 14, 2023.
Lucretia was born in Graceville on March 18, 1953. A 1971 graduate of Graceville High School, Lucretia worked in the finance department with Jackson County Board of County Commissioners and served as Finance Director for a number of those years. She enjoyed life to the fullest enjoying every moment with her son Jody, spending time with family especially travels with her sister, auctions, antiquing, couponing, and shopping. Lucretia supported and worked with her beloved husband, Harry, in their family business Farris Trucking for many years. In the last few years Lucretia became interested in helping rescue dogs and transporting them to various places. When she was able to sit around and relax you might find her enjoying Candy Crush! She was a longtime member of the Campbellton First United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Harry Farris, her fathers, Adolph Ward and A.J. Taylor.
Survived by her mother Catherine Ward Taylor, son Jody Farris (Mary), Graceville, one brother Kevin Ward, one sister Beverly Ward Lane (Jerry), Graceville, a host of nieces and nephews, and two fur-babies Dakota and Bella.
A Home-going Celebration will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 18, 2023, at the Chapel of James & Lipford Funeral Home with Bro. Wendell Dinkins, Bro. Trent Broome, and Jody Farris officiating. Burial will follow in Springhill Methodist Church Cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing.
The Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
