Mr. Joe Lewis Pickett age 82 of Campbellton, Florida passed away Monday February 13, 2023 at his resident surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral services were held 11:00 A.M. Saturday February 18th at St. John M. B. Church located 3903 Missouri Road Marianna, FL with Pastor Alonzo Wilburn, Reverends Carlton Cotton Napoleon Cotton and Arlester McCallister officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery with McKinnie Funeral Home of Campbellton, FL directing.
A public viewing for family and friends was held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday February 17th at the Shira Sr. and Chelcie McKinnie Memorial Chapel located at 5304 Bowden Hill Road Campbellton, FL.
Joe Lewis Pickett was born July 3, 1940 in Greenville, South Carolina to the late Louis Pickett and the late Phyllis Williams. He moved to New York at an early age.
He was a truck driver by trade in New York’s Sanitation Industry.
He was joined in holy matrimony on April 3, 1971 to Louise Allen. They moved to Campbellton, Florida in 1994. He later joined St. John Missionary Baptist Church where he served until his health began to fell.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He leaves to cherished memories with his loving devoted wife: Louise Allen Pickett, his sister:Patricia Douglas (Milton), sister-in-laws: Emma Tillman, Louvina Cotton (Edward), Claddie Gilbert (Edward), a special cousin: Hal Pickett of Taylor South Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
