Juanita Watts Lashley, age 84, born on November 16, 1937, to Raino Watts and Gladys Durden Watts in Grand Ridge, Florida, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2022, with her family by her side.

Juanita was a woman of great faith and a member of the First Baptist Church of Sneads, FL. In her early years, she worked at Florida State Hospital as an Administrative Secretary. Juanita retired after 10 years of service to become a homemaker and raise her children. She loved nothing more than a road trip to the mountains or watching a good western on television. Juanita was committed to family and her children and grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life. She lived a good life, made many friends, and helped others when she could. Juanita will be missed, but never forgotten.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Jack Watts, and her husband of 66 years James Ronald Lashley.

Juanita is survived by her children, Deanna Lashley Mills (Stacy) and Jamey Lashley (Gaye); three sisters, LaDon Moneyham, Patsy Cambron and Annette Tolar; a sister-in-law, Helen Perrigo (John); two brothers in law, Howard Lashley (Louise) and Glenn Lashley (Linda); four grandchildren, Meredith Mills Kurczaba (Michael), Chad Lashley, Mallory Lashley, and Pierson Lashley as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Big Bend Hospice for the special love and care shown to Ms. Juanita and the family during her final days.

Funeral Services will be held in the chapel of McAlpin Funeral Home in Sneads, FL on August 19, 2022, at 11:00 AM Eastern Time with Pastor Jeff Jackson officiating. Visitation will begin immediately following the funeral service. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd, Tallahassee, FL 32308.
