James “Patrick” Barfoot

James “Patrick” Barfoot, 36 of Chattahoochee, gained his angel wings on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, following an 8-month battle with cancer. He lived in Sneads, Florida until Hurricane Michael came in October of 2018, and a large tree fell on their home. Patrick worked as an equipment operator for Neel and Sons and Thames Farms. He was always dependable and was referred to as a top employee who put his heart into his work.
Patrick loved many things from hunting, fishing, and laughing, to teasing and mimicking his mother, whom he lived with all his 36 years of life on this earth. He was also an avid Florida State Seminole Fan. He loved Brother Juno and his church family at Sneads Assembly of God. Patrick was known for his beautiful smile that would light up any room and make those around him laugh and smile. Patrick loved life and his family so very much. He will be missed deeply by his family and friends. The legacy of Patrick’s kind spirit, passion for life and love for all will live on through us.
Patrick is survived by his mother, Carmen Barfoot of Chattahoochee; his father Jimmy Barfoot and his wife Marlene of Sneads; two brothers, Sean Neel and his wife Crystal of Faceville, GA, Shannon Neel and his wife Lisa of Faceville, GA; three sisters, Kim Hornsby and her husband Victor of Iron City, GA, Dawn Hudson and her husband Kevin of Travelers Rest, SC, and Joy Martin and her husband Chris of Sneads, as well as many well-loved nieces, nephews and other extended family members along with his beloved pet Bindi that he called his “Little Buddy”.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Leland Johnson and his wife Minnie of Faceville, GA; Annie Laurie “Grandma Laura” Hodge and her husband William “Pa” of Chattahoochee, Pat Barfoot of Sneads; Grandma Wilma Barfoot Charles and Husband B.E. of Sneads; and an uncle, Leland Wayne “Buddy” Johnson of Faceville, GA.
Celebration of Life Services will be held on Friday, November 8, 2019 at 10:00 AM Central Time at Sneads Assembly of God with Rev. Juno Douglas, Rev. Jimmy Wright, and Rev. Johnny Ray Fontenot officiating. Visitation for friends and family will be Thursday, November 7, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Central Time at McAlpin Funeral Home. Interment will be at Sylvania Cemetery in Bainbridge, Georgia.
