J.D. Suber

J.D. Suber, 78, of Grand Ridge died Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at his residence.

He was born in Hampton Springs,  FL September 28, 1942 to the late Daniel Suber and Rosa Dee Bell. He worked work with Dept. of Corrections 34 years., he worked at ACI most of those years. He was  a member of Gee Lodge No. 21 F & AM of Chattahoochee, FL. J. D. was a  member of Grand Ridge/Marianna Eastern Star Chapter No. 129. where he served as a Master Mason for 42 years.  He was a member The American Legion and Sons of the Confederacy. 

J.D. was preceded in death by his wife of 47 1/2 years, Evelyn Suber; stepfather, Jesse N. Johnson Sr.; sisters, Willie Mae Pitts, Catherine Weatherly; brother, Albert L. Suber. 

He is survived by son, Craig Bishop (Kim) of Marianna; daughter, Karen Bishop McGruder (BIll) of Brentwood, TN; son, John Suber of Dellwood; daughter, Janet Suber Rabon (Josh); eleven grandchildren, Melinda Bishop, Marcus Bishop, Caroline Bishop, Emily Bishop, Justin Gibson, Wyatt McGruder, Christin Suber Patrick (Terron), Makayla Suber, Jacqualyn Rabon, Jordan Rabon, Jude Rabon; three great-grandchildren, Aurelius Bishop, Mavrik Baxter, Everly Patrick; siblings, Reverend Charles F. Johnson, Jesse N Johnson Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Emerald Coast Hospice and our beloved nurses, aids and other staff that have meant so much to us.

Graveside funeral services will be at 11 AM, Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Dykes Cemetery in Sneads, Fl with Pastor Chad Roland officiating and James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.jamesandsikesfuneralhomes.com.
