Hilton Lee “Buddy” McMillan, age 89, of Grand Ridge, FL, passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Signature Healthcare at the Courtyard after several years of declining health. Buddy passed peacefully while surrounded by his loving family.
Buddy was born April 5, 1932 to Herman R. and Stallie (Simpson) McMillan. Buddy spent his life working at various places in the area such as a mechanic and farmer. He married Earline Wright and they were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Beverly June, in April of 1959. Buddy enjoyed horses, spending time with family and friends, and singing the gospel with his sisters. He was a very interesting and colorful character. Buddy loved to make people laugh with his story telling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman R. and Stallie McMillan; his beloved wife, Earline Wright McMillian; their only child, Beverly; three sisters, Mildred Lawson, Beatrice “Tot” Gilley and Naomi McMillan.
Buddy is survived by two sisters, Doris Edenfield of Grand Ridge, FL; Jean Wyckoff and husband, Jim of Sneads, FL; brother, James McMillan and wife, DeDe of Tallahassee, FL; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service for Buddy will be 10 A.M. Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Salem Wesleyan Church Cemetery in Sneads, FL, with Chaplain Gino Mayo officiating and Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing. Condolences may be made online at www.mariannachapelfh.com
