Daniel Robert Thomas, Age 81, of Blountstown passed away, Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at his home. Daniel was born October 21, 1941, to Fred and Emerea Thomas in Pomona Park, FL. He was a member of Frink Baptist Church and also served as a pastor in numerous other churches in his 67 years of service including Hill Crest Baptist, Altha First Baptist, Frink Baptist. Daniel was also a part of the Kawanis Club, assistant fire chief in Altha, enjoyed hunting and fishing, volunteered with the Calhoun County Senior Citizens and the Department of Children and Family Services. Daniel is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 55 years, Joyce Thomas; 3 brothers, Everett (Buck) Thomas, Billy Raut, Leslie (Buddy) Thomas; 3 sisters, Edna Barnes, Catherine Tyler, Dorothy (Dot) Hilton; Survivors include son, Jason Thomas of Blountstown; daughter, Nanci Maupin of Blountstown; sisters, Louise Mew of Palatka, FL, Lois (Cookie) Mauldin of Pomona Park, FL; grandchildren, Elizabeth Maupin, Jessica Thomas, John Maupin. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 29, 2023, at 10:00 AM CT at Macedonia Cemetery with the family receiving friends from 9:30 AM until service time. Interment will follow. All arrangements are under the direction of Marlon Peavy at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown, FL.
