Alice Christine Viers, 86 of the Poplar Springs Community, Graceville, Florida entered her Heavenly home on Thursday, September 21, 2023.
Mrs. Christine was born in McRae, Georgia, July 26, 1937. She married the love of her life on July 15, 1954, moving to various places and settling in Holmes County. She was a beloved pastor’s wife, mother, grandmother, who was dedicated to her husband and children. She volunteered as a Red Cross nurse while the kids were growing up along with being an assistant manager of Great Day and Judy Bond stores. Mrs. Christine loved the mountains along with her husband and would attend the Jubilee Conference year after year enjoying each moment. She was a longtime member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents S.J. Watson and Alice Rainey, ten siblings Josephine, Jessie, Jr, Jimmy, Johnny, Eugene, Lawrence, Carolyn, Coralee, and Joy.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years John Marvin Viers, four sons Steve (Shirley) Viers, Mike (Carlene) Viers, Randy Viers, Ken (Lesa) Viers, two brothers Jimmy Watson, Russell Watson, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
A Home-going service will be 11 a.m., Monday, September 25, 2023, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Biss officiating. Burial will follow in church cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing.
Family will receive friends at the church Monday, 10 a.m. until time of service.
