Born in Cranford, NJ, to parents Henry Zekoll and Virginia Benner, Carole was a graduate of Cranford High School. While living in NJ, Carole trained horses at the Freehold Raceway and the Atlantic City Race Track, as well as for harness racing legends, Stanley and “Sonny” Dancer.

She was a past president of the Delray Art League, and enjoyed participating in art shows across the State of Florida.
She retired from the Broward County Florida Farm Bureau, where she was Office Manager and Board Secretary, and after retirement continued as a member of the Western Palm Beach County Farm Bureau Board of Directors. She was an outspoken advocate for farmers state-wide and nationally, was instrumental in the creation and coordination of numerous Farm Bureau-sponsored community projects and events, and loved teaching children about agriculture.
Carole was a lively, inspired and creative woman who loved her family, camping with her grandchildren, painting, and crisscrossing the State and the country with her friends.
