Annette Porter Chafin, 81, died Sunday, July 19, 2020, at Jackson Hospital in Marianna, FL.
Annette was born in Marianna, where she had lived most of her life. She spent her working career at Riverside Elementary School in the cafeteria. Annette loved to be outside in her yard. She was a member of Damascus Free Will Baptist Church.
Annette is preceded in death by her husband, John Howard Chafin; her parents, Roland, Sr. and Lona Porter; a son, Glenn Howard Chafin; brothers, James Porter, Fred Porter, Roland Porter, Jr.; and sisters, Annie Ruth Porter Brown and Jeannette Porter Watford-Locke.
She is survived by her children, Deborah Chafin Mathis (Ron) and John A. Chafin (Michele), all of Marianna; grandchildren, Hayes Chafin, Sarah Mathis, Chad Chafin (Catherine), all of Marianna and Maggie Mathis Cox (Jeremy) of Birmingham; great-grandchildren, Braiden Chafin, Avianna Chafin, Luke Chafin, all of Marianna, and Mathis Cox of Birmingham; brother, Harrison Porter (Frances) of West Palm Beach; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private graveside funeral service will be at Damascus Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Ronnie Wright officiating, James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel will be directing.
