Annette Jackson Roberts

September 12, 1935 – April 2, 2023

Annette (Gigi) passed away peacefully at her home in Oklahoma City, where she has lived the past 14 years with her daughter and son-in-law, Sunday, April 2, 2023. She was born in Grand Ridge, Florida to Murray Henderson Jackson and Pearl Daniels Jackson. She was the second to oldest of eleven children. She was a native of Jackson County, Florida all of her life until her move to Oklahoma City in 2009.

Annette is preceded in death by her parents, her oldest sister, Delores Horne, her sister Daisy Barrentine and two brothers, Murray J. Jackson and Bobby Jackson.

Annette is survived by her only child, her daughter, Sheila and husband, retired CMSgt Steven Noblin, of Oklahoma City; two grandsons: Joshua Noblin (Laura) of Oklahoma City and Eric Noblin of Choctaw, Oklahoma, four great-grandchildren: Lilyana, Elijah, Ian, and Lincoln, her sisters: Sara Medlock of North Carolina, Marge Nolin of Marianna, FL, Grace Bennett of Pensacola, FL, Pat Edwards and husband Bill of Clermont, FL; brothers: Garey Jackson and wife Julie of Marianna, FL, and Billy Jackson and wife Helen of Alford, FL, and many nieces and nephews.

Annette started her career in 1963 with Sunland Center where she at first was a cottage parent but very soon became the first shift supervisor. Most of that time was spent on Buchanon and Madison cottages. After working with the mentally challenged, she retired through the State of Florida in 1996 with 33 ½ years of service.

Annette thoroughly enjoyed anything that involved her Lord and Savior and her church, the Marianna Church of the Nazarene, where she held many positions. She loved reading missionary books, doing crossword puzzle books and even word search books. Annette was known for having the biggest laugh in the room. She loved spending time with family and traveling to wherever her daughter and family were at, places to include Germany and England. After retiring in 1996, she traveled as much as she could the next 20 years until Alzheimer’s made it impossible.

Services for Annette will be held Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 2 pm CT in the Lynlee Mae Chapel at 507 E. Main St, Moore, OK 73160. This service will be livestreamed. To access the video, please visit Annette’s tribute page at: www.johnirelandfuneralhome.com/obituary/Annette-Roberts
