Alvie “Coot” Deese, loving husband, father, and friend to many,
began his new life in Heaven on February 8, 2022, at the age of 94.
Coot was born on January 8, 1928 in Cottonwood, AL and is survived
by his faithful and loving wife of 73 years, Nettie Deese; a daughter,
Tina Deese of Apopka, FL; and son, Tim Deese of Marianna, FL.
Additional surviving family members include two grandchildren, great
grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was a Marine veteran of the Korean War. Subsequently, he
worked at Sears as an appliance repairman for many years and later
started his own appliance repair service, from home. He was well
loved and respected by all his customers and friends.
Coot loved fishing, hunting, and the many friends he and Nettie made
while camping. He was also an avid Auburn fan! He was a faithful
member of the First Baptist Church of Marianna, and loved all of his
friends in the Barabbas Sunday School Class. To say he will be
missed greatly by his family and friends is an understatement!
Graveside services for Coot will be 2 p.m. Monday, February 14, 2022
at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with Reverends Vince Smith and Michael
Petty officiating. Marianna Chapel Funeral Home will be directing.
