Mr. Willie Lee Olds age 79 of Campbellton, FL passed away Thursday October 24th at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday November 1st at New Bethel C.M.E. Church located 2487 highway 2 Campbellton, FL with Pastor Oscar Massey, Rev. Douglas Cotton-Eulogist, Rev. Earnestine Daniels, Rev. Melinda T. Smith , Pastor John Gray, Rev. Angus Jackson and Min. Lloyd Nedd officiating. Interment will following at the St. Paul – New Bethel Cemetery with Mckinnie Funeral Home of Campbellton, FL directing. A public viewing will be held Thursday October 31st for 5 to 7p.m. at the Shira Sr. and Chelcie Mckinnie Memorial Chapel located 5304 Bowden Hill Road Campbellton, FL.
Willie Lee Olds was born on October 31, 1939 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Willie Olds. He was the oldest of 12 children born to this union.
He was converted at an early age and joined New Bethel CME Church where he served faithfully as an usher, trustee, and janitor until his health started to deteriorate. In addition to his work for the Lord, he worked at Goldkist, Charles Manufacturing, and finally retired from Sara Lee Bakery after 29 years of service.
He was united in Holy matrimony to Lenora Cotton Olds on May 23, 1959. From this union, eight children were born.
He loved the Lord, spending time with his family and telling stories from his childhood. He also enjoyed watching Family Feud, Wheel of Fortune, and Gunsmoke.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his children Jeffrey Todd Olds and Rebecca Ann Olds. Two siblings Rose Olds and Joe Lewis Olds.
He leaves to cherish his memory: His wife of 60 years Lenora C. Olds
Six Children:
Douglas Cotton, Darrell Olds (Yvonne), Willie Olds (Tannie) and Henry Olds. Tammy Billups (Dennis) and Sherry Weatherington (Gregory).
Nine Siblings:
Bonnie Williams, Merlean White, Earnestine Daniels, Gloria Rhynes (Pender),Ethel Olds, Aggie Curry, Olivia Olds, Jessie Olds (Donna) and Walter Olds (Teretha),
Twenty Two grandchildren, and twenty two great-grandchildren, along withone uncle, Jethro Olds (Helen) and three aunts-in-law: Eve Olds, Judy Faxon (Sam), Katrina Olds. Other In-Laws: Rebecca Fitzgerald, AY Cotton (Bonnie), Sherman Cotton
Laymon Cotton (Flora), James Cotton (Alberta), Mandi McKay and Earlene Cotton (Henry- deceased) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
