Wesley Garrett of Greenwood, Florida, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 19th at home. He was 79 years of age.
Wesley leaves treasured memories with his wife, Andrea Nell Garrett of Greenwood, Florida; Children, Amy Garrett Forward and husband Darrell of Marianna, Florida, Valerie Garrett of San Francisco, California, LaTina Newton of Wisconsin and Brentn’a Williams of Greenwood, Florida; siblings, Alex Garrett of Tallahassee, Florida, Gloria White and husband Patrick of Atlanta, Georgia, Deloris Canada and husband Harold and Ora Lee Clay both of Orlando, Florida; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren; mother-in-law, Theola Williams of Greenwood, Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held graveside Saturday, January 28h at 2p.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Two Egg with Minister Billy White officiating. Interment will follow with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.
Both my mother and I worked with Mr. Garrett at Sunland for many years. We would from time-to-time head out fishing, which he so dearly loved. There was no finer man on the planet than Wesley, and it pains me to see his passing. He leaves behind a wonderful family who I am sure were very proud of him. I have not seen Wesley in decades as we moved from Jackson County many years ago, but I will never forget his soft voice and kind heart, he was a treasure to all that knew him.
