Ms. Vina L. Brogdon, a lifelong resident of Sneads, Florida passed away peacefully on Monday, May 13, 2019 in Marianna, Florida. She made a career working at Florida State Hospital and retired after 30 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed going to church, working in her yard, tending to her flower garden and reading. Vina was a kind and gentle person who loved spending time with family and friends, and was overjoyed to cook and bake for them. She will be missed deeply by her family and many friends, but never forgotten.
Vina is survived by her daughter, Betty J. Johns (Charles) of Marianna, FL; and her son, Earl Jones of Sneads, FL; one sister, Audrey Spurlock of Frost Proof, FL; one brother, James F. Jernigan of Clearwater, FL; seven grandchildren, Shelby Johns (Rhonda), Jennifer Castleberry (David), Selina McDaniel, Andrea Nicole Lewis, Eric Jones, Scott Jones, Kimberly Oriento (Jesse) and seventeen great grandchildren.
Vina was preceded in death by her parents, Alvie and Gertrude Tadlock, her first husband, Eddie Lee Jones, her second husband, Charles H. Brogdon, and one sister, Verlene Thomley.
Services will be private for family. Because of her love for her Savior and her church, in lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Sneads, FL.
