Ms. Thomasena Briggs of Marianna, entered into eternal rest of Wednesday, April 15th at home with her granddaughter at her side. She was 97 years old.
She was of the Methodist faith and a member of the Exciting St. James Africian Methodist Episcopal Church.
Memories will forever linger with one son, Algene Gainer of Orlando, Florida; two ganddaughters, Janice Pittman of Marianna, Florida and Ebborah Gainer of Orlando, Florida; two great granddaughters, Sabrina Pittman of Greenwood, Florida and Shira Gainer of Orlando, Florida; five great grandsons, Terrance Pittman of Marianna, Florida, Torrin Gainer, Devontae Gainer, Brian and Jordan Bradley all of Orlando, Florida; three great great grandsons, Chasen Pittman, Domnique Pittman and Deondre Sims all of Marianna, Florida; three great great granddaughters, Deshawna Pittman, Trinity Pittman and Riley Pittman all of Marianna, Florida; three nieces, Jeanette Carr of Chicago, Illinois, Marcia Houston and husband George of Pensacola, Florida, Stephanie Levins and husband Kenneth of Valrico, Florida; two nephews, Tallie Gainer, Jr. and wife Florence of Tampa, Florida, Preston Gainer of Orlando, Florida; four godchildren, Teresa McMillian, Janet Baker Gore, Rev. Anthony Granberry and Lloyd Baker; special friends, Mary Lee Peoples and Carrietta Merritt; and other sorrowing friends.
A homegoing celebration will be held Saturday, April 25th at 11a.m. at Orange Hill Cemetery with Pastor Ronald D. Mizer, Rev. Freddie Roulhac, Elder Tallie Gainer Jr., Minister Tallie Gainer, III and Rev. Anthony Granberry officiating. Interment will follow with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.
