Mark Skinner | TIMES - Josie Scott gets a save for the Lady Hornets during a district tournament game against Altha.

The Sneads Lady Pirates are once again DISTRICT CHAMPS! They seem to be no stranger to the highlight reels in volleyball, winning championship and after championship. Although the thrill of another district championship brings smiles to the team, they are after a much bigger slice of the pie. Having won six straight state championship, they are not willing to accept anything less than number seven.
They started their quest with a solid 3-0 win over Blountstown before a packed home crowd in the Pirate gym. They took the first set 25-12 before picking up a 25-13 win in set two. They closed it out with a 25-17 win to take the game.
Sneads will next face Wewahitchka Thursday (tonight) at 7:00 p.m. before another expected packed home crowd.
Coach Heather Brinkmeyer Edge and the volleyball team invite everyone to come out and support the 2019 volleyball team in their quest for their seventh straight state championship.
