Mr. Albert Milton of Blountstown, Florida transitioned from life temporal to life eternal on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 in Jackson Hospital.


Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 11:00 AM in Magnolia Cemetery in Blountstown, Florida with Superintendent A.J. Davis, Reverend Dr. C.L. Wilson, and Reverend Angus Jackson officiating.


A viewing will be held on Monday, July 5, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Vann Funeral Home.


Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Guidance regarding masks and social distancing will be followed for the safety of the family and those who attend the graveside service.


He leaves to cherish his precious memories, a loving and devoted family:

Arletha D. Williams, 83, of Grand Ridge died Saturday, July 3, 2021 in Marianna.
She was born July 20, 1937 to Jake and Thelma Hickman Pettis in Chipley, Fl. She loved to cook, sew and read. Arletha loved her family and enjoyed her grand kids. She was a member of Cypress Grove Assembly of God for many years.

She was preceded in death by parents; two brothers, John Pettis and Buck Pettis.

Survivors include her husband, G. B. Williams of Grand Ridge; daughters, Sharon Shirah (Bobby), Debra Baker (James), Susan Carraway, Gail Mills; sons, Steve Williams (Roz), Curtis Pope (Billie) and Kenneth Williams (Audrey); one sister, Betty Lois Fears; 20 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with Pastor Mike Allen officiating. Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery in Chipley with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

The family will receive friends Monday, July 5, 2021 from 5-7 PM at Cypress Grove Assembly of God Church, 3250 Cypress Grove Road, Grand Ridge 32442

Larry Darnell Mack

Larry Darnell Mack, age 69, of Jacob City, Florida departed this life on June 18, 2021 in Jacob City, Florida.

Larry was born Monday, November 26, 1951 in Jacob City, Florida to Willie and Lela Bell Mack Jones.

Larry attended Saint Paul High School where he played football. Shortly after high school he enlisted in the United States Army where he served as an Infantry Indirect Fire Crewman. He was considered was an expert with the M16 rifle. Larry was awarded the National Defense Service Medal for his service during the Vietnam war. During his service, Larry spent time in Missouri, California, Germany and Vietnam. Larry was Honorably discharged on Saturday, February 24, 1973 and continued his service in the Army Reserve until Monday, February 21, 1977.

After being discharged from the Army, he moved Lakeland, Florida where he lived a number of years. Larry then returned to his home in Jacob City where he resided until death.

Larry was a no nonsense kind of guy, extremely independent and private person. He loved conspiracy theories, outdoors, travel and music.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Lela and Willie Jones

Larry is survived by two children: Mitchell Brandon Darnell Beacham of Vidalia Georgia and Nicole Mack of Atlanta, Georgia; three grandchildren: Zamir Nichole Stokes, Zalei SuRai Stokes, and Sunday Zaire Stokes; he also leaves to mourn his siblings: Shirley Davis, Deborah Torres, Carolyn Jones, John Jones, Johnnie Jones all from Lakeland, Florida, Mary Sherman (Leon) from Fayetteville, North Carolina, Gwen Jackson (Homer) from Panama City Beach, Florida, Martha McNealy, Lela Smith (Ali), Willie Jones (Elvia), Jackie (Jacquline) Jones and Michael (Tiffany) Jones all from Atlanta, Georgia; a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

Public visitation with social distancing and facial coverings observed, will be 4-6 PM, Friday, July 2, 2021 in the M. Sue & Rodney D. Pittman Memorial Chapel, 5441 Cooper Street, Graceville, Florida.

A celebration of life will began at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, July 3, 2021 at the Saint Mary Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Jacob City, Florida under the directions of Christian Memorial Chapel of Graceville, Florida.

Joyce Burkett Sykes

Joyce Burkett Sykes, 82, of Dellwood, died Thursday, July 1, 2021, at Big Bend Hospice House in Tallahassee, Florida.

She was born October 30, 1938, in Nashville, Tennessee to William H. and Lois Maness Burkett. She met James J. Sykes in June of 1955 and married in December of the same year. They were married for 62 years before his passing in April 2018.

Joyce worked primarily as a bookkeeper throughout her life. In 2001 she retired from the Jackson County Tax Collector’s Office and then worked as a part-time bookkeeper for Welcome Assembly of God. She was always very involved in her church. She especially loved singing alto in the choir and specials on occasion. Through the years she became quite the candy maker. Joyce loved giving away her candy as much as she loved making it. She was very proud of her collection of over 200 Beanie Babies and showed it off to anyone who stopped by.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Sykes; parents, William H. Burkett, Lois Maness Burkett; siblings, James Thomas Burkett, William H. Burkett, Jr., Betty Jane Burkett, and Mary Ruth Ralls.

She is survived by her children, Deanna Witte (Bill), Brenda Lastinger (David), James “Jamie” Sykes (Tammie); grandchildren, Connie Flores (Mark), Stacey Chadwell (Billy), Mallory Lastinger, Morgan Sykes, Lyndsey Sykes; six great-grandchildren; sister, Georgia Williams, and brother, John Burkett.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM CDT Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at Welcome Assembly of God with Reverend John Holley officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM CDT Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Welcome Assembly of God.

Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice House, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, Florida 32308.

Arthur served his country in the United States Army, and received an honorable discharge.

Mr. David Treat, age 68, of Cottondale, FL, passed away on Friday, June 25, 2021 at his residence.

David was born on January 30, 1953, in Orange County, Florida. David was raised by his parents, Dayton Treat and Algatha “Donnie” Bronson. David was a graduate of Osceola High School, and attended ABAC College.

David had a long career with Kissimmee Utility Authority and retired to Cottondale, Florida. An avid outdoorsman, David enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends and family. David also enjoyed airboats and woodwork. His legacy will live on through all those he inspired.

David is survived by his wife, Guiyu; daughter, Brittany Bard and husband, Michael; and granddaughter, Addison Bard.

David was a believer in Christ and a celebration of life is being coordinated through his family. Memorialization will be by cremation with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
