Myrtice Barber Finuff, a resident of Bainbridge, Georgia, formerly of Gadsden County Florida, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at her home in Bainbridge, Georgia. She was born on November 17, 1937 in Bainbridge, Georgia to William and Pearl Barber. Myrtice lived in Gadsden County for most of her life. She was a woman of great faith who lived life serving others. Myrtice was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Chattahoochee, Florida. Myrtice met and married the love of her life, Monroe “Bo” Finuff and together raised two daughters – Kay and Debbie. Myrtice was a kind, generous person who loved cooking for family and always had food on the table. In fact, she was famous for her delicious chicken and dumplings as well as her cobbler dessert dishes. She loved her friends and family, but most of all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. “Aunt Mert” as she was so affectionately known, was an inspiration to all who knew her, and she will be incredibly missed.

Myrtice is survived by her two daughters, Kay Williams and husband Mark of Grand Ridge, FL and Debbie Neel of Bainbridge, GA; two sisters, Mary Mote and Virginia Hemanes and her husband Bobby; three grandchildren, Crystal Wise and husband Philip, Josh Willeby and wife Danielle, Sunshine Tillery and husband Jeff; eight great grandchildren, Josh Ray, Caleb Ray, Cooper Wise, Dusty Tillery, Lincoln Wise, Blu Tillery, Bo Tillery and Trevor Willeby as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

Myrtice was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Monroe “Bo” Finuff; five siblings, Everett Barber, Trudy Ritter, Leo Barber, Woody Barber and Geneva Day; and one infant daughter, Angela Lynn Finuff.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Integrity Hospice for their loving care and support during such a difficult time.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in the chapel at McAlpin Funeral Home on Friday, September 4, 2020 at 2:00 PM Eastern Time with Rev. Mark Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Glory Cemetery in Quincy, Florida. Visitation for friends and family will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Eastern Time at McAlpin Funeral Home.
