Mr. William Doug Hare, age 79 was called home Friday, June 25, 2021, to be with his heavenly Father.
He served his country in the United States Airforce for twenty years. William was employed and retired from the Florida Department of Corrections. He spent his retirement fishing, baking, and making jellies and jams, which he loved to share with family and friends.
William was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather for his family. He will be greatly missed by his beloved family and many dear friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of three years, Shirley Pelham Hare; daughter, Donna Sapp and son James Hare, both of Grand Ridge, Florida; grandchildren, Justin Edge and Jordann of Huntsville, Alabama, Carrie “Tinkerbell” Edge of Grand Ridge, Florida; Devin Medley of Chattahoochee, Florida, Austin Blake Obert of Panama City, Florida, Christian Hare and Jancy Hall of Cypress, Florida, two great granddaughters, Emma and Ellie. One sister, Sandra Granger of Tallahassee, Florida and one brother, Mike Hare and wife Angie of Sneads, Florida. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
William was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Doris and Louie Miller; father, Edgar Hare; one brother, Angus Hare; his beloved “Barbara”, wife of fifty-two years.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Central Time on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Emmanuel Holiness Church in Sneads, Florida with Pastor Eva Howell officiating and military honors. A time of visitation will be held immediately following the service.
