Mr. James Barfield passed away on Tuesday May 2, 2023. He was born in Altha, Florida, but resided in Jackson County for the majority of his life.
James was preceded in death by his loving wife and best friend of 64 years, Myrle Barfield; two sons, James Carl Barfield and William Stevie Barfield; his parents, William Jessie Barfield and Amanda Cox Barfield; brothers, Johnny, Bill, Fred, Hozie, Ernest, and Edward Barfield; and sister, Nell.
He is survived by his son, Carey F. “Rickey” Barfield; grandchildren, August Keller (Jeff), Kelly Barfield Baker (Chris), and Cary Barfield; great-granddaughter, Skye Keller; sister-in-law, Betty Barfield; daughter-in-law, Martha Barfield; and very special friends, Betty and Paul Palmiotto, Billy Pearline, and Chad Pratt.
Funeral services will be 10 AM Friday, May 5, 2023 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service and interment will follow at Carpenter Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home directing.
