Mother Lurene Hartsfield Barnes of Greenwood, Florida entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 29th in the comforts of her home surrounded by her caring and devoted family. She was 90 years old.
She was of the Baptist faith and a dedicated member of Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church. She served on several boards, but was active in the Senior Choir, Senior Usher Board and was recently appointed as a Mother of the church.
Beautiful memories will forever remain with three daughters, Ester Granberry, Olivia Borders and Linda Faye Barnes all of Greenwood, Florida; two sons, Leo Barnes and wife Barbara of Greenwood, Florida and Willie Milton Barnes and wife Sandra of San Antonio, Texas; ten grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and dear friends.
A public viewing will be held Friday, September 3rd from 2-5p.m. at Peoples Funeral Home Chapel.
A Homegoing Celebration will be held at the Mt. Tabor Church Pavilion with Pastor Dwight Cockerham, Sr., Rev. Robert Baker and Rev. Kevin Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.
