Marla Kay Morris O’Pry, 65, died at her residence on January 1, 2024 from a chronic illness. She was born October 21, 1958 in Fairbanks, Alaska on a cold, wintery day. Her father was military and stationed there at the time.
She met and married William F. O’Pry in Grand Ridge, Florida in 1981. They later relocated to Clermont, Florida where they both retired.
Marla worked for Disney World in Orlando for 30 years as a guest relations representative. She loved her job and often told stories of meeting famous people and celebrities over the years.
After retirement, she enjoyed visiting with family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening and making her famous Christmas cookies and sending them all to her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, William F. O’Pry. Also her parents, Gene Morris and Bobbie Morris.
She is lovingly remembered by her son, Jason O’Pry (Clarissa) of Grand Ridge, FL and sisters: Lynn Hobbs (Glenn) of Marianna, FL and Lisa Tinoco (Chris) of Safety Harbor, FL. Nana will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren: Isaac O’Pry (Haley) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Phebe Cook (Parker) of Newton, AL and Kassidy O’Pry of Anchorage, AK and her great grandchildren: Brayden, Sophia and Aurora O’Pry of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and Rowan and Grayson Cook of Newton, AL. She will be also greatly missed by her furry companions, Oreo and Coco.
Marla also lovingly leaves behind several aunts and uncles, Sadie Dixon of Tallahassee, FL, Shirly (Jack) Barwick of Marianna, FL, Kathy (Lou) Roberts of Marianna, FL and Betty Morris of Tallahassee, FL. Also two nephews and a niece, as well as many cousins.
Brewer & Sons Funeral Home of Clermont, FL was in charge of cremation.
