Marjorie Tipton Hencely, 82, of Marianna died Thursday, July 20, 2023, at her residence. Marjorie was born October 4, 1940 in Springville, Utah to Norman and Blanche Tipton. She was the fourth of five children being the only girl. Marjorie attended schools in Springville then Utah State and Brigham Young University. She received her Bachelors of Science at BYU and Masters degree from the University of West Florida. She taught school for 37 years, 35 of which were in Sneads. Marjorie married Charles R. Hencely in the temple November 23, 1965 and had two sons, John and Wesley Hencely. Marjorie served a mission for the Church of Latter Day Saints Australia where she met wonderful people and saw many become members. If you went anywhere with her, you were guaranteed to have a good time. She could make you laugh until you cried. She was always interested in what her grandchildren, Alexandria Hencely and Gregg Berne Legarda were doing. She loved our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, her family and friends, and serving others. One of her favorite things to do was to tell stories. Sometimes, if you were lucky, she would tell you the same story, but with new details from before. She loved reading, writing, poetry, and water aquatics. If you had a problem, she was such a good listener and comforter. She could make you feel better about anything. She will be missed greatly.  Preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Blanche Tipton; husband, Charles Hencely; sons, John and Wesley Hencely; brother, Kent Tipton. She is survived by her brothers, Dean and Gary Tipton; daughter-in-law, Melody Hencely; grandchildren, Alexandria Hencely and Gregg Berne Legarda. Funeral services will be 10 AM Saturday, August 5, 2023 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Bishop John Sims officiating. Burial will follow in Sink Creek Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM Friday, August 4, 2023 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.jamesandsikesfuneralhomes.com
