Marilyn Louise (Simerson) Case, 98 years young of Saginaw, Michigan passed peacefully on April 3, 2023 in Marianna, Florida.
She was born in Caro, Michigan on May 21, 1924, the daughter of Ervin and Mae (Snyder) Simerson. Marilyn was the oldest of eight children and in June, 1946 she married the love of her life, Gilbert Case, and together they had five children. Marylyn and Gil moved to Florida in 1974 from Michigan. Marilyn worked for the Osceola School Board until her retirement in 1989. Marilyn enjoyed spending time with family, having a good conversation and playing marbles. She had the best laugh that would make everyone smile.
Marilyn will be greatly missed by her children, Sharan (Joe) Pelkey, Cindy (Kenney) Smith, Tammy (Ken) Hurren, and Kim (Cathy) Case; brothers Darwin (Iris) Simerson, Darrell Simerson, Rick (Donna) Simerson; grandchildren, Darcy, Todd, Stacy, Jill, Tonya, Trish, Hope, Faith, Joshua, Tara, Kenny, Nicki, Jessica, and Brandy; along with 23 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Pat Simerson, and special friends Jerry and Susie Hurren.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Gil; daughter, Julie Jones; granddaughter, Dana Haller; sister, Shirley Glover; and brothers, Dwain, Galen, and Gary Simerson.
A celebration of life to honor a life well lived will be held at a later date with James & Sikes Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
