Lorenda “Lynn” Walker Smith, age 57, of Marianna, FL, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 29, 2023 while surrounded by her loving family at her residence.

Lynn was born May 12, 1966 in Milton, FL. She later moved to Midland City, AL where she graduated from Dale County High School. Lynn received her CNA degree from Wallace Community College before moving to Marianna where she has been a resident for the last 30 plus years. Lynn was employed by the State of Florida and worked at Sunland as a Recreation Technician. She was loved deeply by her family and friends.

Lynn enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with her family. She also loved to bake homemade biscuits, sausage and gravy and peanut butter cookies with her grand children. Lynn always took great care of other people and most of all loved her work family. There is no better people she could have worked with. Most importantly, Lynn was a Child of God and had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. She is now reunited with her Lord and Savior.

Lynn leaves behind her loving wife of 28 and a half years, Teresa Smith; son, Greg Smith, II and wife, Kimberly; daughter, Desiree’ Walker and fiance, Marquis Barnes all of Marianna; parents, Edward Wayne Simon (Linda) of Dothan, AL and Martha McKinney of Ozark, AL; siblings, Laura Reagan and husband, Johnny of Ozark, AL, Michael Simon and wife, Stephanie of Dothan, AL, Thomas Martell of Ashford, AL, Elizabeth Ellis and husband, James of Dothan, AL, Suzanne Chapman of Wetumpka, AL; half sister, Emily Peluso; grandchildren, Trace and Tomy Smith, Ryken Walker, Kinlee Turner, Jewel and Bella Barnes, Keileigh Holmes; along with a host of special nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Lay Eucharistic Minister Marnie Yon officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 1 P.M. until the time of service at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
