Leonard Earl “Skeeter” Redmon, Sr., affectionately known as Skeeter, age 70, of Marianna, FL, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024 at the Marianna Health and Rehabilitation Center while surrounded by his loving family
Skeeter was born June 12, 1953 in Marianna, FL and was a lifelong resident. He was the son of the late Clarence Redmon and Annie Lamb. After graduating from Marianna High School in 1971, he attended a vocational school to become a Volkswagen mechanic. Soon after, he and his brothers opened a mechanic shop in Marianna named Redmon’s Auto Repair. Skeeter later worked for Laramore Service Company as a HVAC technician and also did his own HVAC work. Skeeter most enjoyed racing cars and spending time with his treasured family.
Skeeter was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers, Richard Redmon and Ronald Redmon; and his sister, Mary Francis Isler.
He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Sapp and husband, Chris of Marianna, Angela Taylor and husband, Ken of Grand Ridge, Starla Ward and husband, Anthony of Marianna; his son, Skeeter Redmon, Jr. and girlfriend, Jennifer; brother, Wayne Redmon and wife, Sue of Marianna; sister, Sue Clements of Alford; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10 A.M. Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Allen Austin officiating. Interment will follow in Damascus Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation, beginning one hour prior to the funeral service, at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
