Joyce Janice Johnson McDaniel, 80, of Sneads, FL passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at HCA Florida Capital Hospital. She was born December 11,1943, to Uriah Shepard Johnson and Mary Edna Hanna Johnson.
Joyce was a retired nurse who worked for various doctors’ offices in Marianna. She was a member of Sneads First United Methodist church and was active in the United Methodist Women (UMW). In addition, she was a member of the Sneads American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 241. Joyce spent many years singing in the church choir and enjoyed cooking, traveling, reading and spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Claude McDaniel; and sister, Johanna Watson. Joyce is survived by her children: daughter, Melissa L. McDaniel (Karen Daily) of Tallahassee; son, Dennis W. McDaniel (Becky) of Sneads; brother, Clifford Johnson of Quincy; grandchildren, Hailey and Garrett McDaniel; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM CDT, Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at Sneads First United Methodist Church, with Reverends Mike von Keyserling and Mike Park officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Dykes Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
