Donald Gene Land, affectionally known as “Bucky”, age 75, of Marianna, FL went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 27, 2024.
Bucky was born on December 6, 1948 in Bainbridge, GA to the late Eugene and Orabee Land. He was a proud Army Veteran who courageously served in the Vietnam War. Bucky was the owner and operator of Land’s Garage and Land’s Logging until he retired. He was a jack of all trades and was always willing to share his knowledge. Bucky never met a stranger and treated everyone like family. He was known as daddy or granddaddy to all! Bucky loved fishing and hunting, especially hearing the dogs on a good race.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Earl Land; granddaughter, Tori Dykes and several brother and sister in-laws.
Bucky is survived by his loving wife of almost 54 years, Carlene Land; children, Vickie Adkins (Justin), Donald “Buddy” Land (Tracie), Penny Daniels (Dewayne) and John Land (Rachael). Bucky was also the proud grandfather of Atrayu Adkins (Amber), Shay Daniels, Colton Daniels, Hunter Land (Amy), Heaven Land and Journey Land as well as several special grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and sisters, Barbara Jackson, Linda Price (James), Gale Noblin and sister-in-law, Joy Land.
Graveside funeral services will be 2 P.M., Monday, July 1, 2024 in the Salem Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Charles Johnson officiating and Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing
