Mr. Joseph Franklin Williams, affectionately called Joe Frank Gator of Greenwood and formerly of Quincy entered into eternal rest on Sunday, March 22, 2020 at home surrounded by his family. He was 70 years old.
He was of the Methodist faith and a member of Saint Hebron AME CHurch in Quincy. He retired from the Florida State Hospital where he was a Unit Treatment Rehabilitation Senior Supervisor.
Joe Frank Gator leaves a lifetime of love and precious memories with a loving longtime friend, Endora Garrett; one daughter, Shandra Beckwwithl two grandchildren, LaVante and LaDarius Beckwith; a daughter he raised, LaChristmas Lloyd; grandchildren, Harmone’ Hearnes, Jayden Jennings, Alanna Hearns, McKenzie Smith and Kayden Brown; Endora’s sisters, Angela Garrett and Cynthia Garrett and brother, Elmore Garrett; six brothers, Oscar Williams, Maxwell Williams (Mary), Thomas Williams, Maurice Williams (Sheila), Marques Williams and Isaac Williams; five sisters, Bernice Jones (William), Sallie Diggs (Arzell, Jr.), Elizabeth Thompson (Melvin), Lavetra Wooden (David) and Carrie Miller (Roy); one uncle, John Scott Houston; one aunt, Minnie Houston; loving cousins, Arther Lee Britt, Tony Robinson, Sr. and Tony Robinson, Jr. and a host of other cousins, other relatives and friends.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Joe Frank Gator’s life will be held graveside Saturday, March 29th at 11:00am EST at Saint Hebron AME Church Cemetery in Quincy with Pastor Charlie C. Worthen, Brother John Scott Houston, Rev. Vivian J. Grant and Rev. Charles F. Flowers officiating. Interment will follow with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.
