Mr. Jimmy McDaniel passed away on April 4, 2020. He was born in Chattahoochee, FL on April 20, 1939 and was a current resident of Crawfordville, FL.
Mr. McDaniel was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur McDaniel and Ruby Brown; stepmother, Martha Jane McDaniel; brothers, Earl and Broward Gable and Eugene McDaniel, and sisters Merle Steele and Linda Wiselogel.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. The love he had for his family was only overshadowed by the love he had for his bride of 61 years. He was a kindhearted and gentle man and was often seen rocking one of his children or grandchildren. He held a pilot’s license for many years and enjoyed the outdoors. When Jimmy was younger you could find him and Claudia in a boat on the water or in the air flying around. He was a man of God and his children grew up witnessing him read his Bible daily. Jimmy was a man of great faith and lived life serving others. He will be missed but never forgotten.
Mr. McDaniel is survived by his loving and devoted wife Claudia McDaniel; daughters, Chrissy Sumner (James), Linda Salis, and Jessica Gardner (James); grandsons John Potter and Daniel Salis; granddaughters, Elizabeth Gootman, Kindall Potter, Alexandria Potter, Jasmain Gardner, and Emmie Salis; brothers, Ronnie McDaniel (Betty), Wayne McDaniel (Kathy), Les McDaniel (Sue Ann), Wes McDaniel; a brother-in-law Karl Wiselogel; two sisters, Patricia McDaniel, Barbara Taylor (Mitch); a sister-in-law Georgia Ann McDaniel; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, a private family graveside service will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Chattahoochee, Florida with Rev. Mitch Taylor officiating and McAlpin Funeral Home directing.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Children’s Home Society (chsfl.org), 1801 Miccosukee Commons Dr., Tallahassee, FL 32308.
