Jimmy Arthur Hagans, age 83, of Marianna, FL, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at his residence. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Jimmy was born in Bonifay, FL on February 14, 1940. He was a lifelong resident of Jackson County and was a 1958 graduate of Marianna High School. Jimmy was a master of many trades and his careers included working for the West Florida Equipment Company, Lehigh Furniture and retiring from the Jackson County Road and Bridge Department in 2010. Jimmy was of the Pentecostal faith and was a true family man. His favorite memories were spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, and fishing when he was able. Jimmy was also a huge John Wayne collector and fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Evie Wilcox Hagans.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 62 years, Annette Hagans of Marianna, FL; son, Kevin Hagans and wife, Reba; daughter, Jelaina Barnes and husband, Bobby all of Cottondale, FL; grandchildren, Chris Barnes and wife, Kaitlyn, Kaleb Hagans and Brooke Hagans; one great grandchild, Dawson Barnes as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be private with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
