Ethel “Sue” Louise Blair Jones, 72, of Alford, Florida died Sunday, March 20, 2022, at her residence. She was born March 5, 1950, to Henry and Rebecca Heinish.
Sue was an Alford resident for over 30 years. She was a babysitter for many years in the Alford area and watched all her babies grow up to have their own families now. One thing she liked to do most was to spoil her grandchildren, if they showed her something in a catalog, it was ordered the next day. She loved to play bingo and play cards with her best friend Sylvia; they could spend all night at it. Sue spent most of her time laying on her couch with her dog drinking her cappuccino and watching the Hallmark channel.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Benny Jones of Alford, FL; sister-in-law Artie Locke of Alford; niece, Charlotte Locke; nephew, Chris Locke, and sister-in-law, Artie Locke of Alford, FL.
Sue is survived by her son, Tommy (Tracy) Jones of Alford, FL; grandchildren, Mason Jones and Shelby Jones; brothers, Martin (Suzanne) Martin, of Bellmont, NY; Joseph (Aileen) Martin, of Watertown, NY; Hershal (Lee) and Annette Martin, of Berlin, WI; brother-in-law, Robert Locke, of Alford, FL; several nieces and great nieces and great nephews, Shane Locke, Crystal, Mikey, Tabitha, Christopher Martin, Sarah West, along with several great-great nieces and nephews. Sue is also survived by her life-long best friend, and bingo partner, Sylvia Long (Mema), of Alford, FL.
Services will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 26, 2022, at The Pinnacle Church located at 1221 Dipper Road, Marianna, FL 32448 with Rev. Tracey Boggs officiating. She will be laid to rest in the family plot at Posey Mill Cemetery in Haleyville, AL with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
