Donald Carter Bennett, better known as “Carter” of Marianna, Florida passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at the age of 55. He was born in Belleville, Illinois on November 27, 1968 to the late Donald Cecil Bennett and Dorothy Jean Scott Bennett. Carter was a skilled heavy equipment operator and mechanic. He loved Jesus and spent hours studying the Bible. Carter attended church with his wife at Sunny Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church. In his free time, Carter enjoyed fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Cid Jean Bennett.
Carter is survived by his loving wife, Sheba Bennett of Marianna, Florida; two sons, Dalton Bennett and wife Morgan and Dillion Bennett all of Troy, Alabama; one stepdaughter, Tammy Price of Brundidge, Alabama; one stepson, Buddy Husband of Austin, Texas; three brothers, Daniel Bennett and wife Elizabeth of Altha, Florida, Hector Bennett of Belgrade, Montana, and Bobby Bennett and wife Kim of Fountain, Florida; four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his very very best friend, Jerry Lattin.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 PM Central Time, on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Sunny Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Sonny Coburn officiating.
Arrangements are entrusted to Jared “Tater” Whitehead and the caring staff of Comforter Funeral Home in Port St. Joe, Florida.
