Deacon Cleveland Thomas, Jr. of Sneads, Florida, transitioned from life temporal to life eternal on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 in Jackson Hospital.

Deacon Thomas was a lifelong member of Saint Peter Missionary Baptist Church where he served faithfully in various capacities.

Deacon Thomas served in the U.S. Marine Corps and the Florida National Guard. He was a Vietnam Veteran and was honorably discharged. He was a 32nd degree International Mason. He was involved in numerous civic organizations. To know him was to love him.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 11:00 AM CST in the Saint Peter Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Sneads, Florida with Reverend Paul Daniels, Sr., Reverend Dr. Hayward Teague, Reverend DeRon Johnson, and Bishop Dr. Adrian Abner, pastor officiating. Vann Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

A viewing will be held on Friday, September 25, 2020 from 4:00 PM CST to 6:00 PM CST at Vann Funeral Home.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all state and local guidelines for social distancing will be practiced for the safety of the public and especially the bereaved family. All who attend are required to wear masks and socially distance.

Deacon Cleveland Thomas, Jr. leaves to cherish his legacy, a loving and devoted family:

Four Sisters: Julia J. Boykin of Sneads, Florida; Carrie Ruth Hall (Richard) of Tampa, Florida; Glenda Crawford of Greenwood, Florida; and Betty Jean Munford of Tampa, Florida
Two Brothers: David Wooten and Anthony Lynn both of Sneads, Florida
Three Sisters-in-Law: Althea Pennington of Fort Meade, Florida; Cynthia Robinson (Willie) of Quincy, Florida; and Alisa Poole of Gretna, Florida
One Brother-in-Law: Lewis Poole (Mary) of Quincy, Florida
14 Grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren
Four Godchildren: Madison Clay of Quincy, Florida; Marcus Cloud, Jr. of Chattahoochee, Florida; Au’Drianna Cloud of Chattahoochee, Florida; and Jade Watkins of Quincy, Florida
And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many dear friends.

  1. Bro. Cleveland Thomas Jr. 32°, was a good and faithful brother for over 40 years in the order of International Free & Accepted Modern Mason Inc. and Order of Eastern Star. He was faithful brother of South Side Lodge #Fl.302, in Chattahoochee, Florida. He will be truly missed.
