Clyde Ray Locke, age 81, of Marianna, FL, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at his home. He was born in Mobile, AL on January 2, 1942 to the late Lee and Lucille Locke.

Clyde joined the United Sates National Guard where he served for seven years as a tank driver. He also served in Germany and was present at the historical Berlin Wall. Clyde enjoyed watching Billy Graham as a child and always wanted to become a preacher. He retired after 36 years working for the Local 150 Union in Illinois before establishing Clyde R. Locke, Inc. land clearing and dozier services for 31 additional years. He also enjoyed collecting cars, working his cattle, collecting antique signs and memorabilia. Clyde was an avid car collector and enjoyed watching the Mecum Car Auction’s. He was a loving father, grandfather, husband and friend to all who knew him.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Elouise Locke; son, Clyde Ray Locke, Jr; brothers, Leonard J. Locke, Butch Locke and David Locke; and son-in-law, James David Hall.

He is survived by his special friend, Gloria Lowe and her children, Danny Passmore and Lisa Williams; son, Tony Mills of Bartow, FL; daughters, Teresa Ann Locke Hall of Eagle Lake, FL, Teresa “Kooter” Locke of Marianna and Pamela Bimberg of Marianna; brother, Lemuel Jack Locke of Chipley; sister, Mary Lou Locke of Chipley; 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

Services for Clyde will be 2:00 PM, Friday, January 27, 2023 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Chaplain Gino Mayo officiating. Interment will follow in the New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
