Wanda Bissonnette, 76 of Grand Ridge, Florida died Monday, October 16, 2023, at Chipola Health & Rehab.
She was born April 30, 1947 and spent most of her life in Greensboro, FL. She was a loving mother and Meme and called family by many friends. She touched the hearts of many people throughout her life. She loved the Florida State Seminoles, to shop and her favorite holiday was Easter. Her favorite part was decorating eggs with her grandchildren and making Easter baskets for loved ones. Wanda was a hard worker and retired from the Department of Environmental Protection. She was a strong personality and a true friend. She made people laugh and had a feisty fire in her that will not be forgotten.
Wanda was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Maggie and Kenneth Pitts; father, James Forbes; biological mother, Audrey Butler; and nephew, Kyle Strouse.
She is survived by her daughter, Tamara Forbes (fiancée, Burt Carpenter); granddaughters, Kayla Mears and Shelby Montroy; siblings, Virginia Ellis, Karen Dunsford, and Larry Dunsford; brother-in-law, Chuck Ellis; and several nieces and nephews.
The family has chosen to have a celebration of her life at her daughter’s house with close friends and family. The date will be chosen at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the Alzhiemers Association since she battled this disease for a long time.
