Walter Hayes Nolin passed on July 02, 2023.

He was born in a log cabin in Coffee County, Alabama on June 02, 1927, to Mary Mae Moseley Nolin and Stephen Hardie Nolin, Jr. His early years were spent helping on the farm with his 5 siblings. After moving to Graceville Florida, he continued to help on the farm until his graduation and enlistment in the US Navy in May of 1945.

He was on active duty with the US Navy in the Pacific during World War II. He and his twin brother oversaw refrigeration duties on the USS Samaritan, a hospital ship. After an Honorable Discharge in 1946, he and his brother enrolled in and graduated from Troy University. He had a successful career as a Mathematician with various Federal agencies, and for the last 18 years of his career, served as a civilian with the Air Force in support of the Space Program, working closely with his twin brother.

After retiring he traveled the world. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his daughter, Janet Hoctor, son James Stephen Nolin, and daughter Joyce Stone, along with grandchildren Andrew, Rebecca, Jeremey, Ashely, Robert, and Jennifer and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Nina Nolin Williams.
