Andre’ Green, a gentle giant left this world too soon on our accounts, but welcomed Jesus’ call on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 in Tallahassee, Florida. He was 41 years old.

Andre was a graduate of Marianna High School. He furthered his education at Chipola Junior College. He received his bachelor’s degree in human science from Florida State, a master’s degree in student personnel administration from the University of Central Missouri and a doctorate in higher education administration from Hampton University.

Andre is remembered as a leader, mentor, brother and father figure to many of his students and colleagues in the FAMU community.

Andre’ was Director of Student Union Activities and New Student Orientation at FAMU where he has worked for the past 17 years. His works have left a significant mark on the HBCU campus in Tallahassee.

The countless memories shared and gathered throughout his life span will be truly missed by his family and friends that he touched along the way.

Treasured memories will forever remain with his mother, Genetta Green of Marianna, Florida; father, Wilmer Green, Jr. of West Palm Beach, Florida; sister, Latesha (Kevin) Green Simms of Wimauma, Florida; aunts, Tereather White, Willa Mae Jugger and Altamese Forward all of Lakeland, Florida, Michelle Green, Virginia Dudley both of Marianna, Florida and Diane (Caifus) Mignott; uncles, Michael (Sonja) Kelly of Atlanta, Georgia, and Arthur Kelly; nephew, Kameron Simms of Wimauma, Florida; god parents, Mabel Leonard, Eunice and Elmore Bryant all of Marianna, Florida; god children, Corie Williams, Bryson Perry, Jada Roberts and Aaron Henry; and host of beloved relatives, friends and colleagues who will miss him dearly.

A public viewing will be Friday, August 11th from 3-7p.m. at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church.

A Solemn Farewell will be Saturday, August 12th at 11am at Rivertown Community Church with Brother Paul Smith in Pastor, Reverend Riley Henderson, Reverend Charlie Martin, Minister Fabian Gammons, Minister James Rhynes and Reverend Kelvin Simms officiating. Interment will follow in the Greater Buckhorn Missionary Baptist Church with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.
