Mrs. Charlotte Marie Destefanis of Compass Lake in the Hills, Jackson County, Florida passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2024. She was 86 years old.

Born in the small manufacturing town of Roseto, cradled in the foothills of the Poconos Mountains in Eastern Pennsylvania, on the 8th of August of 1937. She was the only daughter of Daniel and Lucy DeLesio and raised within the fold of the Catholic church. Charlotte went to school and graduated from the Bangor Area High School in the neighboring town of Bangor, Pennsylvania. From there, she began her career through the working world which ended as executive secretary of a large construction machinery company in Hatfield, Pennsylvania.

She was the past president of the Slate Belt Bowling Association and in April of 1978, she was selected as the best woman bowler in the State of Pennsylvania, with a high triple game of 673 points.

With her husband of 36 years, Hector R. Destefanis, she retired from work in the city of Marianna, Florida in 1994, the State they both yearned for many years before and lived there until her passing. She enjoyed going to the senior citizen center and playing cards in her free time. She was also a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Marianna.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband and is survived by her special friends, Julie, Darren and Hadley Branch.

No local services will be held at this time. Charlotte will be laid to rest next to her husband, Hector, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish Mausoluem in Roseto, PA.
