Alice Ruth Duce King was born in Two Egg, Florida, on November 22, 1936, to the late E. E. “Bill” Duce and Mary Emma (Horne) Duce. She joined her heavenly family on February 23, 2024, while surrounded by ones that love her dearly. Many knew her as “Ruth,” and those who adored her most knew her as “Meme.” Ruth was a beloved daughter, sister, sister-in-law, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She dedicated her life to not just raising a beautiful family and supporting her husband, but she also poured herself into the Bank of Bonifay, just shy of 50 years. She enjoyed many things to include but not limited to: decorating for holidays (especially Easter), working in her yard, articulating the most thought out honey-do-lists, cooking, and, yes, cleaning. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with the ones she loved and held near and dear to her heart. We are certain that she was greeted joyfully in heaven by so many that loved and adored her.

Along with her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Newt F. King; son: Robert Wayne King; sister: Elsie Duce Moline; and brothers: Gayle and Donnie Duce.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Lynn King of Marianna, FL, and Rachel Ferraris (Scott) of Warner Robins, GA, five grandchildren: Courtney (Brian) Antolick, Joseph Ferraris and Jon David Ferraris, Maddy (Theryn) Kolb, and Olivia Robinson; and her 4 great-grandchildren: Julian and Caithan Cornog, Nolan Antolick, and Ally Kolb. Special in-laws Nell King, John and Pat King, Trish Duce, Patsey Duce, and Hannelore Watts, as well numerous loved nieces, nephews and cousins.
